Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Settlement Officer, based in the Wan Chai District. The Settlement Officer will handle the end-to-end settlement process, ensure accurate and timely operations, and resolve discrepancies effectively. Additional responsibilities include maintaining compliance with financial regulations, working closely with internal teams, and preparing reports related to settlement activities.

  • Daily Settlement Functions: Perform and monitor daily settlement functions for Hong Kong and overseas securities markets, futures markets, stock options, and OTC markets.
  • Settlement Review: Monitor and review various settlement functions, including nominee services, corporate actions, SI transfers, and IPO processing in Hong Kong.
  • Client Transactions: Handle and review clients’ fund deposits/withdrawals and foreign exchange instructions.
  • Procedure Enhancement: Formulate, review, and enhance operational procedures and workflows to adapt to regulatory changes.
  • Client Support: Monitor and provide daily support for client account openings and data management.
  • Liaison with Brokers: Communicate and coordinate with brokers and counterparties to resolve settlement issues.
  • Project Participation: Participate in ad-hoc projects, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system development as required.
  • Reporting: Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports related to settlement activities.
  • Reporting Structure: Report directly to the Group Financial Officer.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Settlement processes and Financial operations
  • Strong Analytical Skills and attention to detail
  • Effective Communication and Customer Service skills
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards
  • Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Prior experience in a brokerage or financial institution is highly advantageous
